A little about me...

Born and raised in West Louisville, KY, I am the youngest of ten children. I was often drawn to reading to go on trips and adventures. Reading and eventually writing provided an outlet to learn and also be as creative as I wanted. Though my educational and professional focus developed into mainly STEM areas, my love for reading and writing never dissipated. I still currently work in a STEM related field while writing novels and novellas.

As an alum of Kentucky State University, I am a proud Thorobred (spelled this way purposefully) and realize that my time on the hill shows up in everything I do. My wide range of life experiences as well as my three beautiful, intelligent, amazing children have provided a plethora of topics and points of view to write from.

My previous experience as a Technical Writer, encompassing writing/developing Operations Manuals, User Instructional Manuals, Technical Documentation, Use Cases, Test Cases, etc... had a huge effect on how I approach the planning, organization, and formatting of fictional writing.

I have independently released three novellas ("All Is Well", "Habitual", and "Discoveries" all currently available on Amazon in eBook and paperback formats). I'm currently working on the second installment in the "Discoveries" series. Also available are my two Kindle Vella Series (short stories), "Startled" and "Impenetrable. These series are stand-alone, but also character introductions for the second installment in the "Discoveries" series. "Discoveries" is my first foray into Afrofuturism and my favorite of all of anything I have written.

In the end, I have learned a great deal by independently writing, publishing, and getting into marketing my own work. This experience has led me to make myself available to anyone who I can help. I plan to do this by offering cover-creation, ghost-writing, and formatting under my "Spence-Gigger Publications" imprint. so be on the lookout!
